SHIPMENT PREPARATION

A look at shipment preparation and dispatch.

Agree the shipping basis

Cartons being loaded for shipment

Standard quotation

Quotations are in USD on an FOB Qingdao basis unless another arrangement is agreed.

Other arrangements

CIF and DAP may be evaluated. DDP requires a separate assessment of responsibilities and cost.

Export coordination

Jinyi Taikun is the commercial and export window for the confirmed order.

Ready for shipment is a defined release point

Shipment is arranged after QC approval and receipt of the applicable balance. Carton marks, packing details and export documents follow the order requirements.

DELIVERY MILESTONES

Goods ready, shipment and destination arrival are different dates

Keeping the milestones separate avoids turning a production estimate into an arrival promise.

Garment packaging and carton preparation

Complete production and QC

Finish the confirmed garment and pass the agreed inspection basis.

Release shipment

Arrange shipment after QC approval and the applicable balance payment.

Coordinate destination delivery

Confirm the destination arrangement and timeline under the agreed trade term.

TRADE TERMS

The delivery basis is part of the quotation

Quotations are in USD and name the trade term they are built on.

FOB Qingdao

The standard basis for a quotation from this company.

CIF and DAP

Evaluated where the destination and the goods make them practical.

DDP

Not offered as a standard term: duty, customs responsibility, the importer of record and the final cost are assessed first.

RELEASE AND DOCUMENTS

Shipment has its own release, separate from production

Shipment is arranged once the agreed inspection has passed and the applicable balance has been received. Export documents follow the terms of the order and the requirements of the destination. Goods ready, shipment and arrival are three separate dates: a production reference covers the manufacturing window and is not an arrival promise.

HOW GOODS MOVE

Different shipments, different arrangements

Samples

Sample shipments normally travel by international courier. The courier cost is borne by the customer, and the sampling reference covers the production of the sample rather than its transit.

Bulk production

Bulk movement is arranged under the trade term the quotation is built on, so the point at which responsibility passes is the term rather than an assumption.

Destination requirements

What the destination needs — documents, marks or handling — is confirmed with the order, because a requirement discovered at the port is a delay rather than a detail.
