QUOTATION CONTROL

A quotation is revalidated when the project changes

The default quotation validity is 30 days. Quantity, colours, fabric, weight, workmanship, packaging, size range, testing, delivery urgency, trade term, raw-material movement or exchange-rate changes can require a new price review.

QUOTATION STAGES

A budget and a price are not the same thing

Two stages, so a figure is never read as a commitment it is not.

Estimate

Where the brief is still incomplete, a range with its assumptions stated. It supports planning and does not lock a price.

Formal quotation

Prepared once the specification is clear, and reviewed internally before it is issued.

Validity

A formal quotation is valid for 30 days unless it states otherwise.

What prompts a revalidation

A material change in quantity, colour split, fabric, weight, workmanship, packing, size range, testing, delivery timing or trade term.

PAYMENT BASIS

The standard basis, and what falls outside it

The standard terms are a 30% T/T deposit with the 70% balance before shipment, quoted in USD. Documents against acceptance, open account, credit terms and payment after shipment are not standard options: they are considered per customer and require approval, and a long relationship does not by itself create credit terms. Payment-side and intermediary bank charges are borne by the paying party, the receiving bank's normal credit charge is the manufacturer's, and the amount due is settled on the net amount received.

CREDIT

How a credit arrangement is considered

Standard terms apply unless something else has been approved for the account.

Cartons being loaded for shipment

Start on the standard basis

A new or ordinary account works on a 30% deposit with the balance before shipment.

A payment record accumulates

Consistent payment history is what a later application is assessed against, not the length of the relationship on its own.

An application is reviewed

Extended terms are requested and examined for the specific account rather than granted as a tier.

Approved terms are recorded

Where wider terms are approved, they apply to that account and that arrangement, and they are confirmed in writing.
